My name is Yusupha Barrow and currently works as a senior IT System consultant and Infrastructure architect in Group IT in Norway. I was 10 years old when my parents died. I was then brought back to Jambanjelly and immediately gravitated towards Aja Sutay Manjang (alias Mbasteh), who welcomed me under her care. Since the demise of my biological mother, she is the closest to a biological mother that I have known and experienced.

Thank you!
My name is Bakary Keita, I was born in Mali. I was brought up by Mbasteh in Jambanjelly.. Personally, as a non-Gambian, since 1976, I have known no closer relative than Mbasteh. She had helped me grow and settle in society as a responsible member and I will be most grateful to her for everything but particularly for the role she played in my marriage, from where I now proudly have grandsons and daughters.

My name is Lamin M. Nyassi was born in Jambanjelly in and 1990. My brother Basiru M. Nyassi was also born in Jambanjelly in 1992. Our Dad passed away in 1997 when we were respectively just 7 and 5 years old. Both of us and our mother immediately moved in with Mbasteh, who since then cared for us as her own children. Just before she passed away, she gave each of us a compound.
